Sir David Amess’ beloved bulldog wins Westminster Dog of the Year
French bulldog Vivienne, the beloved pet of the late Sir David Amess MP, has been awarded Westminster Dog of the Year.
Sir David, the Conservative MP for Southend West in Essex and a lifelong animal welfare campaigner, tragically died earlier this month after he was stabbed multiple times during a constituency surgery in Leigh-on-Sea.
Police have since declared the incident as terrorist-related, and have charged one man with murder.
The Spectator‘s diary editor James Heale has tweeted photographs of Vivienne arriving at the awards with the late Sir David’s fellow MPs and friends Andrew Rosindell and Mark Francois.
