No 10 and NHS Trust say PM followed Covid guidelines

Downing Street and an NHS Trust have said the Prime Minister followed Covid guidelines during a visit to Hexham General Hospital yesterday, after he faced criticism for being pictured without a mask.

A No 10 spokesman has told reporters that the Prime Minister “followed the Covid measures that were in place throughout his visit, including wearing a mask in all clinical areas. He also took a PCR test before the visit.”

The hospital trust has itself published a statement affirming that Mr Johnson was not in breach of any of its guidelines.
