Government drop three-line whip on Partygate probe vote

The Conservative have removed their amendment to today’s vote on whether to launch an investigation into allegations the prime minister misled the House of Commons over “Partygate”.
The government have also dropped the three-line whip instructing its MPs to vote for the amendment.

The amendment proposed delaying a decision on whether to refer him to the privileges committee until the conclusion of the Met’s criminal investigation and the full publication of Sue Gray’s report.
