Cabinet Office asks Met if it will publish 300 ‘Partygate’ snaps

The Cabinet Office has said it has asked if the Metropolitan Police plan to  publish the 300-plus photographs it  received as part of its criminal investigation into alleged lockdown-defying gatherings at No 10 and Whitehall.

A liaison unit at the Whitehall-based department has been in touch with the Met regarding the pictures regarding concerns that individuals might be identified.

Reports suggest the Met is yet to forward a response.

Over  300 photos and 500 documents were passed on to police by the Cabinet Office in January.

It remains unlikely that the Met will publicly name people who receive a fixed penalty notice following the probe, however any photos released could lead to their identification by media.
