Boris Johnson expresses ‘deep concern’ to Putin over Ukraine

Boris Johnson expressed “deep concern to Russian president Vladimir Putin over Russian forces building up on the Ukrainian border, in a state call today.

According to a press release by 10 Downing Street, the prime minister spoke to Putin and “emphasised the UK’s commitment to Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty”. The PM also warned Russia any hostile move “would have significant consequences.”

Downing Street says both leaders agreed to “respect the terms of the Minsk Protocol”, whilst also finding common ground on the progress made in addressing climate change at COP26.
