Relocate MPs outside of Westminster while restoration takes place, urges Leadsom
Dame Andrea Leadsom has questioned fellow Conservative MP Sir Charles Walker, who is a member of Parliament’s Restoration and Renewal Client Board, about the proposed movement of MPs out of Westminster while restorations take place.
Dame Andrea said: “Why are we not out of this place? Making plans to remove ourselves to somewhere else whilst the restoration and renewal carries on. And are we ever going to do it?”.
Sir Charles responded: “The delivery authority is working tirelessly to to to deliver a programme to renew and restore the Palace of Westminster. There are enormous complexities here, as my right honourable friend knows”.
