Nominations now open for the 2025 Eat Game Awards
The nominations for the 2025 Eat Game Awards have opened, and Eat Game wants to know which businesses and individuals you think are excelling when it comes to game meat – whether they are cooking it, selling it or talking about it.
The Eat Game Awards 2025 boast eight categories for nominations, including best restaurant, chef, retailer, butcher, educator, innovator and influencer.
Last year saw more nominations and more votes cast than ever before, and even more importantly, new names and businesses entering and winning for the first time.
Annette Woolcock, head of wild food at BASC, said: “We are so excited to launch the 2025 Eat Game Awards and look forward to hearing about more fabulous businesses and individuals doing amazing things.
“Last year, it was great to see so many new faces among the nominees, as well as on stage at the awards dinner, being recognised for the amazing work they continue to do year after year.
“We hope to see even more nominations this year, so make sure you put forward your own game meat heroes.”
Cai Ap Bryn was named Best Game Influencer at last year’s awards for the work he does through his business, Game and Flames and he urged anyone to enter this time around.
“It was a complete surprise to me because firstly, I didn’t expect to be nominated for it at all,” he said. “And then to go through to the finals and win, just blew my mind.
“It is totally worth entering, because it’s not just about the award, you know. The award’s the award and it is an amazing feeling to win, but it’s the people who you meet along the way and the networking and support that you get.
“That’s what’s really good about the award as well. The community behind it.”
Since winning the award, Cai worked with Eat Game at the recent Meatopia event, helping educate and inspire visitors to eat more game.
