Police reveal name of alleged Jakarta hotel bomber

Indonesian police have released the name of the man they belive responsible for the Jakarta hotel bomb attack last Tuesday, which killed 10 and left 152 injured.

The alleged terrorist was Asmar Latin Sani, a 28-year-old man from the island of Sumatra and member of the militant Islamic group Jemaah Islamiyah.

Jemaah Islamiyah reportedly is closely linked with Osama bin Laden’s outlawed terrorist group.

Sardono Siliwangi and Mohammad Rais, two imprisoned members of the Islamic group, were shown photographs of the alleged suicide bomber’s severed head in the wake of the attack; they admitted recruiting him, according to police.

Experts believe the extremist groups also executed the attack in Bali last October.
