Three quarters of Brits would support police investigation into Downing Street party

A poll by YouGov has found that 73% of British people, including 61% of Conservative voters, think that if Christmas parties did occur at Downing Street, then the police should investigate.

The Met police had previously ruled out an investigation, citing a lack of evidence.

The statement from the Met read: “Based on the absence of evidence and in line with our policy not to investigate retrospective breaches of such regulations, the Met will not commence an investigation at this time.”
