Russian authorities are set to ban Whatsapp and Instagram in the country.
It will also designate Meta (still commonly known as ‘Facebook’) as an “extremist organisation”.

The announcement follows reports news that Meta Platforms, including both Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, will permit users to incite violence against Russians and Russian soldiers in relation to the war in Ukraine.
