Rees-Mogg snubs Welsh Tory leader following claims Scottish Tory leader is ‘lightweight’

The Leader of the House of Commons Jacob Rees-Mogg has this afternoon appeared to snub the Tory leader in Wales.

When quizzed in the Commons earlier today, the North Somerset MP appeared unable to name the senior Tory for a moment.

Labour MPs Kevin Brennan asked the minister if he thought the leader of the Conservatives in Wales was also a “lightweight” after he described Scottish Tory leader Douglas Ross as such on BBC Two’s Newsnight programme yesterday.

Brennan also asked Rees-Mogg if he could name the Welsh Tory leader, saying “The secretary of state for Wales is called Simon Hart,” after a brief pause.
