Rayner criticises PM for not wearing face mask at public indoor gatherings

Deputy Labour leader Angela Rayner has urged better global vaccine rollouts, and mandatory sick pay for those self-isolating.

She has also criticised the prime minister for not wearing a face mask at public indoor gatherings.

Her comments come as the UK government is set to introduce a ten day isolation period for anyone who has come into contact with someone who has tested positive for the Omicron variant.

She told BBC One’s Breakfast programme that: “If people have to self-isolate or go off sick they have to be given sick pay, it’s one of the most crucial things we can do to ensure that everybody can do the right thing and protect people from this new variant.
