No 10 dismisses concerns over alleged letters of no confidence

This afternoon No 10 has dismissed concerns over alleged letters of no confidence.

When asked whether the prime minister was worried about reports that some Conservative MPs had sent letters of no confidence in his leadership to 1922 Committee chairman Sir Graham Brady, his press secretary said: “That wouldn’t be a question for me, and, again, I’m not going to comment on anonymous briefings.

“The Prime Minister is entirely focused on delivering his ambitious agenda,” she went on.

Deputy prime minister and justice secretary Dominic Raab told LBC radio earlier today that the rumours were: “the usual Westminster tittle tattle,” adding that, “letters go in and out all the time under every leader. There is no existential threat.”
