‘Imminent action’ coming from French fisherman in licensing row

French fishermen are reportedly vowing to take urgent action, which could include blocking UK vessels’ access to French ports after Britain has refused to grant further licences for French vessels that wish to operate in UK territorial waters.

According to Reuters, Olivier Lepretre, president of the northern France fisheries committee said: “Action is imminent.”

Ongoing talks between the UK and EU appear to have been largely fruitless so far.
