Government unveils COP26 presidency programme

The government has unveiled the “COP26 Presidency Programme”, outlining the events that will take place at the international climate change summit.

The summit kicks off with the World Leader’s Summit led by UK prime minister Boris Johnson, with over 120 countries confirmed to be joining.

Chancellor Rishi Sunak will open one of the “themed days”, with an event on how finance is being made available to deliver on the goals of the Paris climate agreement signed in 2015.

COP26 president Alok Sharma said: “I hope through our diverse programme of events, as well as the efforts we have put into getting delegates to Glasgow, all participants will be able to benefit from the very best of climate leadership around the world.”
