Eight police injured in clashes with protestors in Parliament Square

Hundreds of protestors clashed with police yesterday evening in Parliament Square.

According to the the Metropolitan Police, eight officers were injured and 12 people arrested.

The ‘million mask march’ demonstration, many of whom donned Guy Fawkes style masks as worn in the Hollywood film V for Vendetta, launched fireworks at police.

The annual 5 November protest is generally associated with ‘Anonymous’, an international and decentralised hacktivist group that has been responsible for several cyberattacks against various government and corporate authorities.

Protestors displayed messages such as “Boris lied people died” and “UK Govt genocidal maniacs”.
