Conservative lead drops by four points, says new poll

The Conservative lead poll lead has dropped, according to latest Ipsos Mori figures.

In a survey ran on behalf of the Evening Standard the Conservatives were on 35 per cent, a drop of four points since September.

Labour stayed unchanged at 36 per cent, while the Greens soared by five points to 11 per cent.

The Liberal Democrats also remained unchanged at nine per cent support.

This marks the first since the start of Johnson’s premiership that polls have shown that a majority of British adults disagree that he has what it takes to be a good Prime Minister.

These findings follow a week of chaos and criticism in Westminster after the government’s controversially quashed Owen Paterson’s recommended 30-day suspension last Wednesday, followed by a U-turn the subsequent day.

However the Standard has confirmed that the polling fieldwork was undertaken prior to last week’s debacle.
