Conservative MP says British people are ‘worried about war in Europe rather than food prices’

Conservative MP Alicia Kearns, who is also a member of the Foreign Affairs Select Committee, has said that what people are “mainly worried about” is the conflict in Europe, not food and gas prices.

“What they’re mainly worried about are the scenes they’re seeing of children having been shipped out of their homes, of attacks using cluster bombs on civilian sites”, Ms Kearns added.

“They all recognise this isn’t just Ukraine under attack, this is all our values and this is the Western world order.”

Speaking to Sky News’ “Trevor Phillips on Sunday” show, Ms Kearns also suggested that the UK is “leading from the front” on Russian sanctions, adding that she is “absolutely confident” the British people are “behind us” in the harsh sanctions imposed against Russia in recent days.
