Chancellor confronted by climate activist

Chancellor Rishi Sunak has been confronted by a climate activist inside the COP26 conference, according to local reports.

The incident occurred prior to the minister’s address to the climate summit at Glasgow’s Scottish Event Campus

An activist from the ‘Green New Deal Rising’ group asked Mr Sunak why he why the government were giving tax breaks to fossil fuel firms.

The group described themselves as “an unstoppable movement that will make the Green New Deal an era defining issue and fight for a new system in which we can thrive.”
