Azeem Rafiq apologises for antisemitic messages

Cricket whistleblower Azeem Rafiq says he is “ashamed”, as he apologised for using anti-Semitic language in 2011.

Rafiq has been in the spotlight in recent days for shedding light on his experiences of racism and bullying whilst playing for Yorkshire Cricket Club, in an explosive testimony at the figital, culture, media and sport select committee.

On Twitter this afternoon, Rafiq posted on Twitter an apology for the exhange: “I have absolutely absolutely no excuses… I am incredibly angry at myslef and I apologise to the Jewish community”.
