Almost half of Labour voters think Starmer should quit if he broke Covid laws

A new YouGov survey has found that almost a majority of Labour voters think the party leader should resign if faced with a Covid fine.

The poll concluded that while 46 per cent of all British adults thought Starmer should quit if fined, 48 per cent of those who voted Labour in 2019 thought he should step down in such a scenario.

Just 40 per cent of Brits who voted Conservative at the 2019 general election said Starmer should quit if fined.

Over half (54 per cent) of all British adults say that the Labour leader and erstwhile barrister had “probably” or “definitely” breached Covid laws.

On Friday Durham Police confirmed that they will reinvestigate Starmer over a gathering in Durham last April.
