There is no consistency in devolved governmental structures across the UK, says Bim Afolami

In a Westminster Hall debate presented by Conservative MP Bim Afolami on devolution and the constitution, he discussed whether the current devolution settlement was as effective as it could be.

He explained that the systems in each constituency lack consistency – mayors have different powers from place to place, for example. Justin Madders said he was proud of the systems and that devolution is part of democracy, and Minister Alex Burghart said that the system is effective.
