UK plans to process asylum seekers abroad falters

Priti Patel’s plan to process asylum seekers abroad has already hit a stumbling block, as no country has come forward willing to host a processing centre, admitted a Home Office minister.

The plans, which have been described as “inhumane” would’ve meant asylum seekers who arrived in Britain would have been sent abroad to be processed.

Kevin Foster, the minister for future borders and immigration, told BBC Radio 4: “We haven’t had a country say to what you’ve suggested yet.

“But certainly we are in conversations with a number of partners, but for obvious reasons I’m not going to get into the details of them.”
