Sir Gavin Williamson

Sir Gavin Williamson is the Conservative MP for Stone, Great Wyrley and Penkridge, and has been an MP continually since 6 May 2010.

Sir Gavin has served in cabinet in a variety of senior capacities, including as the Secretary of State for Education (2019-2021), Secretary of State for Defence (2017-2019) and chief whip (2016-2017).

He was Parliamentary Private Secretary to the prime minister from 2013-2016, during David Cameron’s tenure in Downing Street.
