Karen Bradley was first elected as the Conservative MP for Staffordshire Moorlands in 2010, being reelected in 2019 with a majority of 16,428.
The Staffordshire Moorlands constituency is found to the north of the county of Staffordshire and includes the towns of Leek and Biddulph.  Found to the north east of Stoke, this largely rural constituency reaches out towards the Peak District and includes the theme park of Alton Towers.
This constituency was held by Labour during their period in government between 1997 and 2010. Containing a very high proportion of owner occupiers, some 65% of the local population backed Brexit in the 2016 EU referendum.
Karen Bradley previously served in the Cabinet as the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland (2018-19), and as Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport (2016-2018). She was formerly a junior Minister at the Home Office (2014-2016) and a government whip (2013-2014).
Bradley supported Michael Gove in the 2019 Conservative Party leadership election.
Bradley is currently the Chair of the House of Commons Procedure Select Committee.
Born in 1970, Karen Bradley attended the comprehensive school, Buxton Girls School in Buxton before going on to study Mathematics at Imperial College in London.
After university, she trained as a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser. In 2002, she was seconded by her employer at the time, KPMG, to work as a technical adviser to the Shadow Treasury Team led by Michael Howard.
She is the co-author of Little Britons: Financing Childcare Choice for Policy Exchange, and of Turbo-Charging Growth for the Centre for Policy Studies.
Bradley is a Manchester City Fan.
Karen Bradley is Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Groups on Challenger Banks and Building Societies; Human Trafficking and Modern Slavery. She is Vice Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Groups on the British Council, the United Arab Emirates, British Museum, Football, the Peak District, Taxation, the Union, and War Heritage.
