Boris Johnson is facing criticism today for dismissing the Matt Hancock resignation as “stuff going on within the Westminster bubble” at prime minister’s questions in the House of Commons.

Keir Starmer had brought up the case of Ollie, a man who died of leukemia the day before the photos of Matt Hancock and Gina Coladangelo were taken and who was unable to have more than one family member with him.

Starmer demanded Johnson retract his comments, saying: “I can hardly think that the prime minister thinks it’s appropriate, in response to a question about Ollie, to suggest that this is, in his words, ‘the Westminster bubble’.”
