‘Dead women is a thing we’ve all just accepted’

There was a solemn mood in the commons yesterday as MPs debated International Women’s Day.

Over 60 MPs spoke, including a moving speech from Jess Phillips who read the names of every woman killed in the UK in the past year where a man has been convicted or charged as the primary perpetrator.

The case of Sarah Everard hung over the debate, with many MPs mentioning her in their speeches.
