It’s the day before the Coronation of King Charles, and thousands of people await outside Buckingham Palace to join-in the celebrations.

For many, this is a time of huge triumph, celebration and pride. A time to remember British history and to celebrate in our nation’s successes. Events like this bring in tourists from all over the world.

But, not everyone in the UK considers themselves a royalist, and many are keen for the monarchy to be abolished owing to its jaded history and cost to the taxpayer.

Alicia Fitzgerald went to Buckingham Palace to chat to people waiting, and asked them whether they think the monarchy should have a say in our politics…
