The Channel Four poll to find who the most hated Briton alive is has seen the Prime Minister come out on top.

He beat model Jordan and former resident of ten Downing Street Margaret Thatcher into second and third place respectively.

However, the Conservatives shouldn’t be too smug as their leader Iain Duncan-Smith came in at number 99.

Making up the top five was ex-Big Brother housemate Jade Goody and ITV1’s ‘Tonight’ presenter Martin Bashir.

Bashir has become the figure of hate since his controversial interview with Michael Jackson, receiving criticism from most of the celebrities being interviewed and was presented as ‘two faced’.

The show would also have made for upsetting viewing for members of the Royal family as both Prince Charles and the Queen made the top 100 the latter coming in at number 10.

The former Butler to Diana, Paul Burrell, was criticised as being a ‘sell-out’ and made number 71.

Other notable entrants included Catherine Zeta-Jones at number 39, Simon Cowell at 33, and Robbie Williams at 17.

Despite his status as England Captain, David Beckham also earned a mention. He was voted as the 91st most hated Briton. His wife didn’t escape criticism as she was the 13th most hated Briton.
