‘Why aren’t the government listening?’ – Report calls for ban in use of BMI

A report by the women and equalities parliamentary committee has called on the government to scrap the use of BMI.

In addition, the report criticised the government’s approach to eating disorders and tackling poor body image, branding it as “dangerous”.

Caroline Nokes, chair of the women and equalities committee, said the increase in mental health issues associated with body image was “enormous”.
