Hancock: ‘Doses will go ahead as planned’

Matt Hancock clarified reports about vaccine delays by telling parliament there will be “no weeks in April with no first doses”.

Admitting that there had been a reduction in supply, the secretary of state for health eased concerns this could affect those promised a jab.

The shadow health secretary, Jonathan Ashworth, said he understood the delays, but was critical of the government’s optimistic messaging during the past week.
