No high risk from international arrivals, claims Hancock

Matt Hancock has claimed that the majority of international arrivals pose little risk to the UK, as it struggles to get to grips with Covid.

The health secretary supported the government’s targeted approach to impose restrictions on people travelling back from countries with high case rates or new variants, such as South Africa.

Mr Hancock was answering questions put to him by the health and social care committee on the government’s response to the latest coronavirus outbreak.
