The NASUWT regrets that, following an extended process of consultation and negotiation with the recognised staff unions, Unite and GMB, on revisions to the staff pension scheme the GMB union has now confirmed that it intends to call strike action
The NUT's action short of strike action to protect teachers and defend education commences today.
The NUT is to ballot members for strike action and action short of strike action to protect pay and working conditions. The ballot will commence today, Thursday 21 June and will close at midday on Thursday 6 September. The NUT will keep its existing pensions ballot.
Members of the NASUWT, the largest teachers’ union in the UK, will hold the first of six days of strike action starting tomorrow (1 October) at Nugent House School in Billinge and St Catherine’s Secure Centre in St Helens.
