Tom Randall is‌ ‌the‌ Conservative ‌MP‌ ‌for‌ Gedling,‌ ‌having‌ ‌first‌ ‌been‌ ‌elected‌ ‌to‌ ‌Parliament‌ ‌in 2019‌, gaining the seat off the Labour Party ‌with‌ ‌a‌ ‌majority‌ ‌of 679‌.
The constituency of Gedling covers a suburban area on the north easterly outskirts of the city of Nottingham. It includes the market town of Arnold, alongside the communities of Woodthorpe, Gedling village, Carlton and Colwick. Having previously been loyal to Labour ever since 1997, Gedling was narrowly gained by the Conservatives in 2019. It is now one of the ten most marginal seats in the UK.
Born‌ in 1981, Tom Randall grew up locally in Arnold, went to Redhill Comprehensive school, and then studied law‌ at Oxford University.
He started his working life as a solicitor specialising in the construction sector.  More recently before becoming an MP, he worked as a policy officer for the Royal College of pathologists.
Interested in flags, Randall served as a flag protocol manager during the 2012 London Olympics.
He is also a former editor of the magazine Flagmaster, produced by the charity the Flag Institute, itself dedicated to promoting flag use. He is Vice Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Flags and Heraldry.
Randall supported Leave in the 2016 Brexit referendum.
He is a member of the All Party Parliamentary Groups on Hong Kong, and Axial Spondyloarthritis
