Garnier, Mark

Mark Garnier was first elected as the Conservative MP for Wyre Forest in 2010 being reelected in 2019 with a majority of 21,413.

Garnier served as Under Secretary of State for International Trade between 2016 and 2018.

Mark’s experience before politics was in finance and business. After leaving Charterhouse in 1981, he embarked on a career in the City of London, starting as a junior clerk on the floor of the old Stock Exchange in the UK Government Debt, or Gilt market. In 1986 he turned his eye to the equity markets of the Far East, where he spent the next 13 years in various investment banks.

Mark left the investment banking world in 1999, setting up his own businesses in investment management, in which he still has an interest.

Mark is married to Caroline and has three children.
