Biography:

Duncan Hames was elected as Liberal Democrat MP for Chippenham on May 6th 2010 with a majority of 2,470.

Duncan was born in 1977 and grew up in Watford, Hertfordshire. He attended Watford Boys’ Grammar School and the University of Oxford where he studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics and graduated in 1998.

Duncan trained as an accountant with Deloitte. He moved to Wiltshire in 2002, became a local school governor, and was elected as a West Wiltshire district councillor in 2003. Duncan was also appointed to the board of the South West of England Regional Development Agency in the same year. He continues to serve as a school governor in Melksham.

Duncan’s main focus is as a constituency MP but he also takes an active interest in the Green Energy Sector and ensuring that all children have access to a good education.
