David Mowat

Biography:

David Mowat was re-elected as Conservative MP for Warrington South on May 7th 2015 with 25928 votes, taking 43.7% of the vote.

David was born and brought up in the Midlands, attending his local grammar school before studying Engineering at Imperial College where he joined the RAF as a cadet pilot officer.

After graduating David qualified as a chartered accountant and subsequently joined Accenture, the technology and consulting Firm. In 1989 he became a Partner and subsequently built the business from a staff level of 400 to over 15,000. His final position was as a Global Managing Partner.

David is now Chairman of Fairbridge in Greater Manchester, a charity dedicated to improving the life chances of young people aged 16-21. He is also a primary school Governor.

David is married to Nicky, a primary schoolteacher. They have four children.

In May 2007 David became a Borough Councillor but stepped down two years later to focus fully on his campaign in Warrington.

In April 2009 he started Warrington Jobs Club, an initiative which aims to help residents get back into work.
