Rayner raises concerns of future net zero cuts despite heatwave

In a statement to the House of Commons, chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster Kit Malthouse addressed the “collective endeavour to prepare for and manage” the heatwave this week.

Malthouse told MPs that “must learn to live with these extreme events”.

On this topic, deputy Labour leader Angela Rayner voiced her concerns that candidates to be the new prime minister have been “outbidding” each other on how they would cut climate change action, risking further issues.
