New Northern Ireland Brexit deal offers ‘the most practical way forward’, says Sir Tony Blair

The commons Northern Ireland affairs select committee today heard evidence from former prime minister Sir Tony Blair. The committee is looking at the functioning of the Good Friday Agreement ahead of its 25th anniversary.

Sir Tony expressed support for the Windsor Framework, the prime minister’s solution to the NI Protocol, at the hearing.

He said: “My reason for supporting what the government, this prime minister has done, on the Windsor Agreement is that I think it represents the most practical way forward that minimises all the theoretical objections”.
