Location of Holocaust memorial discussed

Father of the House of Commons Sir Peter Bottomley has questioned plans over the Holocaust memorial being built in Victoria Tower Gardens outside parliament.

Following his urgent question, Bottomley called for the government to follow what MPs agreed and spend money “on education rather than construction” before questioning the site that had been selected.

Communities minister Paul Scully defended the site which was “identified as a site uniquely capable”, sending a message “at the heart of democracy”.
