Government unwilling to throw money at the inflationary crisis

During treasury questions, Stephen Flynn drew attention to the government website, which sates the “moral, social and economic” aspects to levelling up.

The SNP MP asked “where is the moral argument in people not being able to feed their kids?”

Chief secretary to the treasury Simon Clarke drew attention to the ways in which the government are supporting people with the cost of living and energy, but made it clear that “you do not solve an inflationary crisis by throwing money at that problem” because it would “worsen the issue”.
