Government played ‘fast and loose’ with public money

In an urgent question, Labour Chair, Anneliese Dodds, asked for more information on the awarding of government contracts to Randox Laboratories Ltd.

Maggie Throup, the Deputy Minister for Health and Social Care, explained that “all contracts were awarded in line with procurement regulations and transparency guidelines”.

Dodds, in response, suggested that Randox’s £133 million contract was given “without competition” and that the government were “playing last and loose with public money”.
