Goodwill warns government of net zero bus ‘inertia’

In the opening speech from a Westminster Hall debate, Sir Robert Goodwill warned the government that “inertia” on zero emission bus plans “threatens its net zero strategy”.

Goodwill told MPs that “despite the rhetoric from the government” orders for the promised 4,000 zero emission buses have not come through.

The Conservative MP also warned of the competition UK manufacturers such as Alexander Dennis face from Chinese companies with lower energy costs.
