Baldwin calls for ‘posh glass ceiling’ to be broken in motion on hereditary titles

In a ten minute rifle motion, Conservative MP Harriet Baldwin called on the “top of society” to break the “posh glass ceiling” regarding hereditary titles in the House of Lords.

Baldwin highlighted to the House of Commons that “an eighth of the seats in the other place are reserved for men only”.

The Conservative MP described this “embedded sex discrimination” as “unacceptable”.
