RCP comment on National Audit Office Report (Reducing Alcohol Harm: Health services in England for alcohol misuse)

Professor Ian Gilmore, commenting today on the publication of the National Audit Office report Reducing Alcohol Harm: Health services in England for alcohol misuse said:

"The National Audit Office report on reducing alcohol harm makes sobering reading. It is clear that the NHS needs to urgently 'up its game' both in investing in alcohol services and in having sensible strategies across primary and secondary care to make sure the investment is well spent. The Royal College of Physicians is keen to play its part in helping that sensible joined up policies are implemented across the NHS."
