The world's only professional body dedicated to the individuals and companies within the aerospace and aviation community
Aerospace is one of the world’s most technologically advanced and innovative industries, contributing significantly to the global economy with multiple commercial, military and industrial applications, including the research, design, manufacture, operation and maintenance of aircraft, engines, satellites and space launchers.
Supporting this vital industry is the Royal Aeronautical Society, the world’s only professional body dedicated to the individuals and companies within the aerospace and aviation community. We're at the forefront of innovation within the industry and are committed to advancing the art, science and engineering of aeronautics across the globe.
We seek to promote the highest professional standards across the diverse aerospace disciplines by sharing specialist information and providing a central forum for the exchange of knowledge and ideas. As an independent and authoritative organisation, we play a leading role in influencing opinion on aerospace matters.
With over 21,000 members in more than 100 countries, the Society’s global network of members represents all sectors of the industry from air crew to aerodynamicists, systems designers to airport operators and maintenance engineers to space scientists.
We've accredited over 200 courses, apprenticeships and professional development schemes, working closely with academia and industry to ensure graduates and apprentices have the underpinning knowledge, understanding and skills to achieve their goals of Engineering Council registration.
At every stage of our members’ professional lives, the RAeS supports initial and continued professional development through an extensive global programme of conferences, workshops and lectures. As well as a network of experts to interact with, the RAeS provides access to a wealth of information through our publications and online resources including podcasts, papers and our own National Aerospace Library.
