BASC: Young shots get the chance to join a game shoot

Sixteen young shots from the south east had the opportunity to take part in a live game day in East Sussex last weekend thanks to the generosity of the Hawkhurst Wood Syndicate

The young people, who came from as far a field as Essex and Berkshire, all went home with a brace from the day's bag of 32 pheasants and one woodcock.

BASC members John Hill and Nick Purton, who helped to organise and run the day, were impressed by the enthusiasm and skill of the youngsters, as well as their attention to safety.

BASC regional officer, Jenni Thompson, said: "It was a great opportunity for the young shots to get out and meet like minded people and the standard of shooting was excellent. The Young Shots all had a wonderful day and BASC are indebted to the members of Hawkhurst Wood Syndicate for giving us this wonderful opportunity to host such an event".
