Tory ‘plan for drivers’ – Greenpeace response

In response to the Conservative Party’s policy proposals rolling back traffic and speed restrictions, Mel Evans, Head of Climate for Greenpeace UK, said:

“The Tories seem to have their fingers in their ears not just on protecting our environment, but on protecting the health and safety of our families. Voters in London returned Sadiq Khan to City Hall with an even bigger vote share after giving London cleaner, healthier air. Encouraging people out of cars is good for air pollution, public health and safety. Poll after poll shows how much the state of our air and rivers, climate and energy security matter to voters across the UK. This divisive, negative strategy could be a significant vote loser for the Conservatives.”
