A 59-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of threatening Conservative MP Louise Mensch.

The Corby and East Northamptonshire MP tweeted recently that hackers from Anonymous or LulzSec had threatened her children on email while she was in holiday in New York.

She offered no evidence that it was either of the two groups mentioned.

"To those who sent it; get stuffed losers," she wrote.

"I have contacted the police via the House of Commons and the email is with them now. I don't bully easily, kids. Or in fact at all."

The man was arrested in Gloucester by police investigating "malicious communication and threats made via email and a social networking site".

Officers from the police central e-crime unit and the Palace of Westminster were also involved in the arrest.
