Second police grilling for Huhne

Chris Huhne looks increasingly likely to leave the Cabinet after being interviewed a second time by Essex police over speeding offence allegations.

The energy and climate change minister faces possible prosecution over claims that he asked estranged wife Ms Pryce to take penalty points on his behalf.

Essex police say that they are preparing a file to submit to the Crown Prosecution Service.

However the Lib Dem dismissed the allegations as "simply incorrect".

Whilst prime minister David Cameron and Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg have both publically offered support to Mr Huhne his odds to leave the Cabinet have been drastically slashed by bookmakers.

Rupert Adams, a William Hill spokesman said that Chris Huhne's odds of being the next cabinet minister to go had dropped to 2/1.

He said: “It has been a very topsy turvey week for David Cameron and his cabinet. The losers of the week are Baroness Warsi and Chris Huhne who must both be in fear of their job."

Mr Huhne and his estranged wife were interviewed by police last month over claims she accepted a three-point penalty on his behalf in 2003 so that he could avoid a driving ban.
